Our Story
Inception
CD Farming Ltd is a joint venture between Driver Farms, a family partnership based in Brockley and Clopton Estates Ltd, a family limited company situated in Wickhambrook.
Driver Farms / started trading in 1987 as a partnership set-up by Carl and Felicity Driver, with a small acreage inherited from Carl's grandfather and have successfully built up a large-scale farming business with more land purchased, rented and acquired via contract farming agreements.
The Driver family have been farming for at least six generations. Many of our contract farming agreements have been long term with the longest running since 1990.
Adam joined the business in 2012, and completed a Sainsburys scholarship in soil health studying minimum tillage cultivation, no till drilling and cover crops in 2015. Carl is the chairman of Camgrain.
Clopton Estates is a family run arable farm based in West Suffolk. It has farmed the land for four generations and began as a fruit and dairy farm in the late 1920’s. It transitioned to become fully arable in the late 1980’s.
The farm includes land along with a residential and commercial property rental portfolio.
Ed returned to the business in 2018 and manages the business interests of the estate day to day.
Chris is an Exec Director for numerous companies alongside Clopton Estates.
